Tyre Manufacturer Solutions

A leading tire manufacturing company faced significant challenges in setting up a new storage area that needed to accommodate at least 5,000 tires. The project was complicated by the varying sizes and specifications of the tires, requiring a customized approach to ensure efficient storage and inventory management.
Problem Statement & Challenges Faced
- Varied Tire Dimensions: The R&D storage area needed to accommodate tires of different dimensions and specifications within the available space.
- Storage Capacity Requirement: A minimum of 5,000 tires had to be stored efficiently.
- Multi-Tier Racking Installation: Installing multi-tier racking on the first floor of the RCC mezzanine added complexity to the setup.

The Solution
- A Multi-Tier Racking System with G+2 tiers for enhanced storage capacity.
- Installation of a vertical reciprocating conveyor (VRC) to efficiently transport materials between the ground level and the G+2 tiers, streamlining tire access and minimizing manual handling.
- The upgraded system provided storage for 5,000 tires, maximizing the use of available storage space.
To address these challenges, the company implemented an advanced "Multi-Tier racking system. Key features of the system included:
Benefits to the Customer
- The designated storage location was successfully utilized, meeting the required capacity.
- The rack span and layout were designed to align with the load-bearing capacity of the civil mezzanine.
- The system facilitated easy identification, adaptable storage options, and optimal use of vertical space.
- Storing the tires in a vertical orientation greatly improved operational efficiency and ease of handling.
